The miGoogle conference begins on November 4, 2024 with a selection of full and half-day workshops that provide an opportunity for deep learning and exploration of classroom tools and instructional strategies.

Sessions are led by experienced Michigan educators and feature practical ideas to help you implement technology into your classroom. Scroll down to view this year’s session. Preregistration is required for hands-on workshops.

🥾 Level 1 Google Certification Bootcamp

This full-day session will prepare you to take the level 1 Google Certification exam and earn your designation as a Google Certified Educator! This advanced training will review the essential skills and features you must master to pass the certification exam the first time. This session is led by Google Certified Trainer Lissa Brunan who has successfully helped hundreds of educators earn their Google teacher certification.

🦸‍♂️ Advanced Google Workspace Tools

Google Workspace EDU Plus provides advanced security, instructional, and productivity tools for teachers, tech coaches, and administrators. This session will introduce you to the advanced tools for Google Classroom, Drive, Meet, Gmail, and Chromebooks that are included with the premium Google Workspace experience. You’ll experience practice sets for Classroom, building blocks for Google Docs, Email templates for Gmail, and AI powered enhancements for your favorite Google tools. 

Note: demo accounts will be available for attendees who don’t have a premium license, but would like to learn more about these features.

⚙️ What’s new with the Google Admin Console?

Join other IT administrators to discuss best practices for setting policies for your Google Workspace domain. Essential topics for this session include optimizing your domain structure, improving security policies, optimizing services for learning, managing off-task student behavior, and understanding critical updates to the Google Admin console. This session is for users with full access to the Google Admin console. 

Note: if you are interested in Chromebook management, make sure you register for the Chromebook Admin Academy which takes place in the afternoon.

💻 Chromebook Admin Academy

Explore best practices for managing a fleet of Chrome devices during this session for IT administrators. We’ll explore several critical changes to ChromeOS management that will have a significant impact on all school districts. Essential topics of discussion include device life-cycle management, deploying apps and extensions, asset management tools, and browser policies to improve teaching and learning. This session is for users with full access to the Google Admin console.

🧭 A responsible teacher’s guide to using AI
